A few days ago I read a post here about which specialization to choose. Elixer sounds nice- more flasks? Yes, please! The only problem.... I went to pick up the quest to specialize in elixers. As you non-alchemists probably don't know this quest requires you to visit black morass (spelling?) and gather items off rift lords.
Problem one: There is an attunement quest for BM, which I have finally completed.
Problem two: There is -nobody- lfg for BM and I can't get a run for love or for money.
Problem three: The droprate on the quest item is godawful low. I convinced a CoT group today to run black morass with me after durnholde and only got 5 of the 10 items I need.
How did you elixer specialist ladies get past this? I have an idea, but I don't know if it will work.
My idea: make a group on my boyfriends account, invite my 80 druid, log off druid (she will stay in the party, even logged out), log on priest, and invite priest to the party. I would then have a my boyfriend's toon, and both my priest and druid in the same party. Let's say I were to run my priest into BM and change to my druid and haul her over there. I would kill some rift lords on my druid, then switch to my priest. Would my priest be able to loot the bodies, being DC'd at the time they were killed?
Edit:Looks like I am going to have to bribe my guildies harder. In the mean time, let's talk about all the stupid outdated quests that you haaave to do but can't get groups for. Thanks for telling me if my idea would work. You saved me a lot of time.

All right, ladies (and lurking gents!). I caved. I created a few characters on an RP realm (Wyrmrest Accord, Alliance). I will try this. I will try not to suck at it. But first, I have some questions for all you seasoned RPers out there! 1.) Alliance or Horde. Why did you pick what you picked? Or do you RP on both sides? (And why?) ((If you want to get more detailed, why did you pick the RACE you picked?)) 2.) Any tips for first-time/n00b RPers? 3.) How versed in lore should I be? How detailed should I make my character's backstory? I feel so silly, but I really do want to try this.If you want to talk to me in-game with tips, you can whisper up one of the following names. I should be online: Essie (Night Elf), Sacae (Draenei), or Caelin (Human). ♥ Thank you for all your help! And if you want, share some fun stories about RP experiences. :D Tags: lore, rp Current Location: Ohio Current Mood: Nervous Current Music: Silence

Facepalmed myself so hard I gave myself a headache. Just WHACK in the forehead. >.< Literally. Picture it. 50s group. Blackrock Depths. The dreaded Lyceum. I'm the only person who's been in the "keyed" areas before. And since I have the key, profit! No. Not even close. Me: Okay, this is how this area works. There's a lot of mobs that respawn really, really quickly, but they die really really fast. We have to stick together, find the Flame Keeper mobs, kill them and take their items. Then, we have to move to these braziers here (minimap ping) and here (minimap ping). We have to move fast, since the items have timers. Group: Okay. Sure. No problem. HALF AN HOUR LATERTank: What are we looking for? Rogue: I dunno... How much longer is this instance? Me: *dead and angrily pounding instructions for the TENTH time into my keyboard* Healer: .... Rezzing the mage AGAIN (me). Warlock: Would you listen to the mage already? She's trying to tell us what we need to do here. It's been five years since I first set foot in the depths of Blackrock, all the way back when it was 10-man. It's both comforting and pathetic to know that the Lyceum can still turn people into complete goddamn retards, and me into a tower of frothing, forehead-slapping rage. Tags: lowbie instances

Good evening WOW Ladies, I'm hoping someone not so noobish as I can perhaps help me understand the situation I'm in with RAF. A friend and I have somehow completely managed to bungle it, and although Blizzard support is very nice, they're not being as helpful as I had hoped. I've read the official FAQ, searched the forums, and I went through the community tags without hearing of anything like this happening to anyone else. Here's what happened: 1. My friend bought and installed vanilla WOW when it was $5, but did NOT create an account. 2. She waited till my semester was over (= free time), and then I sent her the RAF code. She created a trial account using that code, and then immediately upgraded the account using the code that came with her copy of the game (perhaps this is where we went wrong). Unfortunately, when we logged in, we could not do any RAF stuff (no summon, no triple XP). My account showed my RAF referral as being sent but not being acted upon. 3. I sent in a ticket to Blizzard support, and got a quick reply back that seemed like it would have solved our problem. The support person said that she had "retro linked" our two accounts, and that "MYACCOUTNAME has now recruited WOW1 on FRIEND'SACCOUNTNAME." Okay. We log in, still no link. My account information now shows TWO linked accounts, a trial and a full version. 4. We realize that on my friend's log-in screen, she has the option of two accounts(?), "WOW1" and "WOW2" (she only has one Battle.net account, but both of these are somehow part of it -- this is really confusing me). Turns out WOW1 is her upgraded game, WOW2 is a trial version, and WOW2 is the one with the RAF link (we tested this by rolling a toon on it). So I replied to the support email with this information. Got a reply back today saying merely "A paid character transfer can be done to move the character. WOW1 is the recruited account and the account to play on." ... buh? It's so very confusing (and frustrating!). I am seeing on my end that WOW2 (a trial) is the linked account, but support is telling me otherwise. My friend and I have no problem rerolling our toons to start over together, but it kind of sucks that my friend may have to buy the game again to get a new code to upgrade. I'm also really peeved that we've wasted all this playing time on nothing. Has anything similar happened to anyone else, or can anyone shed some light on what actually happened? Thanks for your time in advance. :) Tags: recruit a friend Current Mood: frustrated
